Okay so I have no idea how this is suppose to go but here goes nothing. I looked at the website http://crunkfeministcollective.wordpress.com/ and I must say it was really cool, for a lack of words. I loved how the writer wrote about this movie. She makes really good points about how our society is wrapped around this thought of all women need to be super models to be loved by all or to get anywhere in life. The writer talks about how this is a good movie not because of effects or money but because it tells a real story and has a good meaning to it. I believe all women need to watch this movie. Learn to appreciate themselves. This article is great for feminist to look at because society takes women as subjects and subjects them to things and puts standers so high that only certain people can obtain them. Feminist would eat apart people who say that all women need to look like a super model. It is very clear in this article that women need to be happy with themselves and not try to be someone that they are not.

Nice reflection Nicole! Did you have a chance to read the mission statement page of the Crunk Feminist Collective?? You're right--it's pretty cool! :) When we discussed the "mythical norm" last week in terms of the "ideal woman" and the "ideal mother," weight/size was one of the areas we touched upon. Good job picking up on the feminist response to these issues! What other connections can you make from this website and these blog authors to what we discussed last week? What type of feminist theoretical framework do you think they are using?? --Andrea
P.S. Do you enjoy hip hop? :)
